Johnson Control’s first floor lobby creates a visual blend of strong heritage through continuing innovation in their current automated building technology. McMillan Group was responsible for all interior architecture, construction documentation as well as: interior, lighting, graphic and video design.
At the 7th floor entrance to the Showcase for Building Environments, the living lab concept included reveals of the building's system controls, customized demos and product displays as well as a high energy introductory video covering solutions for all marketed industries to provide overall context to the visit. McMillan Group designed and directed the video concept as well as all interior and lighting design.
This dimensional graphic greets potential customers as they exit the elevator
and shows stellar examples of buildings around the world, including their own visitor center, along with others that operate with Johnson Control’s products. McMillan Group project managed the: general contractors, exhibit fabricators, video producers, AV system and lighting programmers in addition to the furnishing and surfaces suppliers.
McMillan Group created the interior and lighting design as well as the presentation AV system concept design for two state of the art conference
rooms overlooking Lake Michigan.
We created an immersive experience in this presentation theatre, customized
by industry segment with multimedia, full scale graphics and special effects
that, for example, simulated weather changes and how that effected building automation solutions.
This illustrates the overall floor plan of the 20,000 sq ft. Customer Center. McMillan Group also designed the Remote Operations Center shown here

The examples here are the pre-produced multimedia modules McMillan Group designed and produced for the industry specific solution presentations. Every detail of the customer experience was carefully planned and designed to make it a meaningful visit that specifically answered customers' questions and finalized choices to work with Johnson Controls.
Johnson Controls needed to upgrade their customer experience in Milwaukee, WI, to reflect their leadership position, latest technologies and customer based solutions in the automated building controls industry. McMillan Group created the concept and storyline for the headquarter building as The Brengel Technology Center and Showcase for Building Environments, a living lab to demonstrate technologies. The design achieved a distinctive Brand look and provided pre-produced media and displays that were highly customizable for each visit. We delivered an effective and immersive customer center environment that made an impact to ensure sealing the deals, making the destination trip worth it.
"The Showcase provides our customers with direct evidence of our expertise, commitment and ability to provide them with solutions for their business needs. It's a win for McMillan Group, a win for Johnson Controls and, most importantly, a win for our customers."
